About
Tektura is two people. There is no account manager, no studio, no "team". When you email, one of us replies, and the person you talk to is the person who builds it.
Daniel Hutchins
Daniel designs the sites and writes the code. He is also a composer, studying at the Royal College of Music, and he plays cornet with GUS Band — which is where the first two projects came from, and why the members' areas we build get tested on a Thursday night by someone who has to use them.
He hand-codes everything. Not because it sounds good, but because a site made of plain files is faster, cheaper to host and impossible for a plugin update to break.
Mollie Muzzlewhite
Mollie is a software engineer. She builds the part behind the site — the box office, the members' area, the admin screen — and the platform all of it runs on, so that what we build for one client is solid enough to build on for the next.
If your project needs something that doesn't exist yet, she is the reason we can say yes and mean it.
The name
From tekton, the Greek for builder — the root of the word architect — and cura, care. Build it, then look after it. That is the business in one word.
Where
Biggleswade, Bedfordshire. We work with people anywhere in the UK, and most of our conversations happen on a video call, but we will come to a rehearsal.
How we're set up
Tektura is a trading name of Daniel Hutchins. Mollie builds alongside him and the two of us decide everything together. Invoices, letters and this site carry his name and [ADDRESS], an address where documents can be served.
